Tangible and Intangible

Reports of GEM agent Vivi Verreau's kidnapping have drawn some concern whether she has blown her cover. Lieutenant Jazz Zerringue from the SEAL team with which she has been working has gone off after her. Target is last seen hanging off the back of a truck.

I have been ordered to put a scan out for V's locator signal. She will activate it if she's able to. So far, the airwaves have been clear. COS Command isn't pleased since that could mean several things. Tortured for information. Or already dead. Jed McNeil has signaled in to wait. He is confident that Jazz will find our missing GEM operative.

This is what human beings like to call 'faith.' They put value in this emotion. Yet I find it very difficult to compute and understand. Human beings put 'faith' in what they cannot see. Vivi is gone and they have faith in her being found. There is no supporting evidence that this is proveable since she apparently isn't able to activate her locator in her present state.

So it isn't the locator in which these human beings have faith, but something more intangible. I will continue scanning. I have more confidence in the locator pinpointing its exact position. I wonder whether Jazz will be able to save Vivi Verreau. With his SEAL abilities, current probability calculations is at 50 percent. Add in estimated value of the number of operatives with 'faith' in the missing couple being alive. An entire SEAL team. A GEM comptroller (high value). A COS commando (higher value). A Navy admiral (highest value). 75 percent. Interesting. I am learning.
