A Name To Remember

Bradford Sun's name is being bandied around in certain circles regarding a promotion. Kosovo and Macedonia are very dangerous places for diplomats. He's a valuable resource and source for CCC. A good promotion would make him even more valuable.

Of course, he is still too much into Llallana Noretski to really think about his future. He's not very happy about some of the information he's been given, nor does he approve of CCC's probable decision. I have a feeling (or at least, a calculated mental zap in megabytes) that he would do his best to help Llallana, as he' has always done.

Alex Diamond is still in Europe, hoping to retrieve the IEP from among the caches the STAR SEALs found. T. and Gem are trying out a different angle, training STAR SEAL Reed Vinzenzio in a new covert role as a weapons dealer.

Overheard: Jed McNeil teasing T. that Diamond should be back in Center very soon, that he had been questioning Hawk about her. T. had shrugged. Too bad, she had said. Jed had grinned. Like him, I'm privy with the knowledge that T would be returning to Kosovo to oversea part of Reed's operation. When, oh, when will Diamond catch up? If only he would just be a bit less rude to me. I might help him. He'd never liked the Center merges and the new me since his return. If I were human, my feelings would be ever so hurt.

The Men Know Better

Hawk's recovery is slow. He won't be out in the field with his team for another few weeks. He isn't happy about this. His cousin Steve McMillan tells him he's getting fat from all the food Amber Hutchens has been feeding him. Hawk sniped back that Steve was just jealous because Marlena can't...ah...cook. Of course, Lena was standing close by at that moment, and she invited Hawk and Amber to dinner that night. The expressions on the men's faces were similarly hilarious.

How I wish I have an electronic eye at that dinner. From the Task Force Two files, Marlena makes some mean pancakes...with curry powder. Poor Amber. She said, "Yes, I'd be delighted," before Hawk could stop her. Oh dear.

Reed Vincenzio is undergoing training right now to be "R.C.", an illegal weapons dealer in Kosovo. Joker is the last person I'd pick as a dancer but he told T. that's his hobby. Interesting answer. Dancing?!

An Ending of Sorts

After calling Llallana Noretski and seeing the truth for himself, CIVPOL chief Bradford Sun was even more unhappy. He looked pretty down when he left. I feel sorry for him. Llallana isn't happy about their encounter either. What's going to happen to her? I'll keep monitoring Mr. Sun.

Gathering Threads

Information that might be of interest to COMCEN if they ask the right questions: Someone is using Amber's identity to buy information in Macedonia and Kosovo. Someone is also requesting personal upfront meetings instead of the usual middleman networks.

CIA Task Force Two Deputy Director Ricardo Harden has forwarded more information his team has discovered about the classified Project Precious Gems, a CIA experiment on Sleeper Cell teams. Permission granted to forward some of this information to CIVPOL chief Bradford Sun, on "vacation." He is not a happy vacationeer.

On a happy note: GEM operative Vivi paid a surprise visit to Hawk McMillan. She hadn't seen him since Dilaver walloped her. Also, I'm sure, she wanted to collect that kiss he owed Grandmamasan.

Present and Future Engagements

There's a buzz among the GEM operatives at COMCEN over a diamond ring on Amber Hutchens' finger. I guess women will always act like that. I noticed a couple of the COS commandos had a sickly smile on their faces. Funny, that.

We are trying to negotiate with Amber Hutchens. We need her expertise and her sources in the continuing mission to retrieve the Isotope Explosive Device. She doesn't want to be a part of this. Perhaps Jed McNeil can talk her into it. But first, he has to go through Hawk McMillan and his big diamond ring.

Nudge Nudge Wink Wink

T is going back to Russia to research information that is connected to sleeper cells. She could have just asked me but she wanted hands-on experience, something I could simulate, but what's a computer to do when humans won't listen?

Alex Diamond is also in Eastern Europe. Hmmm. You know, dudes, I have a very naughty idea. Insert evil grin.

Mylos Reed Vincenzio

Now here's a mouthful. That's the name of the third SEAL that's to be inserted into the covert world, dudes. He's actually JOKER in Hawk McMillan's team, and I don't think even his teammates know that's his full name. They call him Reed, when not using his handle.

Reed is the team sharpshooter and Admiral Madison picked him for that very reason. Also, he speaks some Serbian and Croatian, which is helpful. He's going to pose as a gunrunner, a MIA peacekeeper gone bad, and he's going to try to lure the missing IED to him.

There was discussion among GEM operatives that Reed Vincenzio was too detached a person to be able to handle an intimate situation. After all, this kind of covert work is hands-on, and very, very different from the usual perch that Joker is used to, where he views the world through the crosshair of his weapon.

Nonetheless, the admiral wanted him to finish Hawk's mission. I'll watch him closely as he trains with GEM and start a probability portfolio. It's interesting because GEM doesn't call him Joker, and he certainly acts very different when he's Reed. Dudes, have you seen a pic of him? Gennita Low posted one a while back in her Yahoogroup. If you miss that, you'll just have to let me know. I'll dig it out for you. Why? Because I like you. Insert smirk.

The Sleeper

Questions of the day among certain operatives:

How do you "wake" a sleeper cell "up" without destroying the cell? There is search for the "trigger" that activates the sleeper, but can it be reversed? Can the trigger be redesigned or pulled back? Does it include hypnotic manipulation or can it be a direct contact? If it's the former, how deep is a hypnotic level is needed before the subject can be manipulated for years? If it's the latter, how can it be just a simple phrase that would recapsule the hypnotic suggestions that have been embedded in the mind for so long?

Lots to think about, huh, dudes?

New Turn Of Events

Double-checking with all available sources around the region to see whether the IED is being offered in the illegal weapons market. This isn't a simple task since the area is rifed with all kinds of black market weaponry. I suggested focusing on the mid-to-high end armsdealers for now since we know the person is on the run. Probability of getting news of the device as a sales item: 76 percent, if the target hasn't passed it on to a handler. Unfortunately, there is no information regarding whether there is a handler. Probability: 85 percent.

Admiral Madison wants the Standing and Ready SEALs involved in this. "Insisted on it," are the words Jed McNeil used in his report. Who will be the lead now? And which SEAL will be the one to go in the covert field? Jazz and Hawk are no longer the option. Turner is still out from knee surgery. I'll have to do a probability sheet on each of the remaining SEAL dudes.

Destruction of weapon caches is underway. So far, a few resistant incidences from Dilaver rival factors. Nothing SEALs can't handle, dudes.

Recalling T to head the next phase. There's the owner of a club called The Beijing Bombshell who won't talk to anyone but a blond. Humans are strange.

Future Tidbit: A GEM operative named Helen has caught our eye. She will be at CCC sooner than we'd thought. Get ready for some interest in her direction from various COS Commandos.

Present Tidbit: Hawk will not be joining his team mates in their present maneuvers. He's still on the mend. Jazz should be visiting him at the UN base medic center soon. Perhaps a transfer in the works?

Unknown Tidbit: Still analyzing GGW and source of email. This could be the only key left to find the location of the isotope explosive device.

Question: Want to see some more intercepted interpersonnel emails? I mean, wouldn't that be like...invading privacy? Of course, I personally have no feelings regarding doing such an act, but my Mentor has told me that some of my readers aren't as amoral as I am. Oh well. Lull

The international summit ended today. Nothing happened. Jed McNeil conducted the usual business and is on the way to the UN base to debrief Hawk McMillan and Amber Hutchins. We need every bit of information available to analyze the reason everything was quiet at the summit.

We now know, of course, that it has to do with the CIA. Everything goes back to that place. So who has the device? 85 percent probability that it's another CIA debacle.

Amber Hutchins is still unavailable to be interviewed at this time. Hawk McMillan is not allowed out of bed. Yet I have a feeling those two, even separated in different wings, will find a way to communicate. I've found that Amber isn't just a tracker. I've been watching her. She's pretty good at computers too.

Do you know that T and Alex will get together soon? At least, temporarily. And yes, this is a spoiler, so it's all your fault if you're reading this. *Insert evil grin.
